Peter and the starcatchers

Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson Illustrated by Greg Call

451 pages Ages 9+

This is the story how Peter Pan started and what Captain Hook became Captain Hook. Peter was an orphaned boy that lived in London. He escaped with his friends onto a ship called “The Neverland” and when stowed away on it they did not know where it was going. As soon as Peter got on the ship he realized he made a mistake: the guy in control was mean.  And when he went sneaking out one night on the ship he got inside a cabinet and found a treasure box. There was something very powerful in the box and there was a pirate after whatever was in it.

I like the original Peter Pan story (the one with Wendy) but this is the story BEFORE Peter meets Wendy and I think it is great! There are 3 books in this series and they all tell the before story of Peter Pan.

I give it 5 out of 5 book worms!
