Daniel was a 12-year-old boy who was born in 1755. British officers were living in Daniel’s family’s tavern. His family were Patriots (people who wanted freedom), not Loyalists (Tories -people who wanted to remain a British Colony). Daniel passed information about the British’s plans to his schoolmaster, Master Richardson, who took the information to the Patriot Army Camp. When Daniel’s father went to the army, Daniel had to take care of the tavern and his family. Then one day he asked his mother if he could see his father and she said yes. Daniel was overjoyed! After seeing his father, Daniel stayed at the army camp over night and helped fight a small battle against the British! He went to the army twice before figuring out there was a traitor among the Patriots. Daniel rushed to the Patriot Army Camp even though General Washington told him not to come again. He had to tell them this information to the General!

This book is exciting and tells you about the seige of Boston from a 12-year-old boy. I like this book a lot and I think you will too!

I give this book 5 out of 5 book worms!
