The main idea of this story is that Eleanor’s very nice babysitter, Bibi, moved to Florida to take care of her sick dad. Eleanor’s dad wanted to make her feel better by making a playdate with another girl, named Agnes. Apparently, Eleanor didn’t like Agnes and that just made things much, much worse. Eleanor was depressed about the whole thing even though her new babysitter was nice.
Eleanor and I have a similarity: we both lost someone who was close to us in our lives. For me, it was when my dog, Bart, died. For her, it was when Bibi moved far away from her. I learned that even though someone you loved is gone, they’ll always be in your heart. I would also recommend this book just because it’s a good story too!
MOM’S OPINION: This is an excellent book for advanced younger readers. The story is charming, the characters are endearing and it is very appropriate for young and old.
