The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters
By Janet and Allan Ahlberg

Today I have my first guest book review and the guest reviewer is…….my little sister Josie!! (Josie is 7).
I liked the Cinderella story in the book the best. I like the pictures and the letters you can pull out. I like pulling the letters out of the pockets. Reading the letters and post cards is funny. I like when the postman delivers the mail. Some of the words were hard to read but the pictures helped me know what the words are. It is a very good bed time story book. I would tell my friends to read it. I give it 5 out of 5 book worms!
Thanks, Josie! Now a note from me (Erik)! I think this book is very unique because all throughout the book there are actual letters tucked into envelopes and you pull the letters out to read them. There is a birthday invitation for Goldilocks, a letter from an attorney to the wolf in the Red Riding-Hood story, a post card from Jack to the giant and a lot more. It is a lot of fun to discover what the postman is delivering!

Hi to you too, Donna!
Erik
This is a great post. I love it when the kids get involved. My niece posted a review this week at my blog http://kristisbooknook.blogspot.com The Grimm Legacy.
I like your blog. I do think kids should be more involved in reading books and writing (including me).
I truly love this book. When he’s big enough, I’m going to make sure my son has a copy. Some of the Ahlbergs’ other books are also terrific. Have you or Josie tried “Cops and Robbers” by the same authors?
We have not read it, but I think we will!
My brother and I loved this book when we were kids. I wish we could have blogged about books together, but I don’t think blogs existed then!
