NERDS: M is for Mama’s Boy

NERDS: M is for Mama’s Boy

By Michael Buckley

Illustrated by Ethen Beavers

Published by Amulet Books 2010

Ages 9-12 – 288 Pages

The NERDS are back! They may be “nerds” in school but this elite team of government agents is anything but NERDY! The second book in the NERDS series is told from the perspective of Duncan Dewey (an agent and paste eater). Soon the team finds out their old team-mate, Heathcliff Hodges (Simon) is up to no good. He recruited a normal guy (Albert) who he turned into his evil inventor, Albert’s mom (who Albert lives with even though he’s a grown-up), and a goon with a hooked hand on his side. Albert invented a ray gun that he used to zap the NERDS gadgets and made them not function. Since the NERDS don’t have their gadget upgrades, they must defeat them using their wits.

I like this book a lot. I liked this book even better than the first. There are more pictures in the second book. The story is great. It is a H.A.V.E. book (see my review for NERDS book 1). I would recommend this book to anyone who read the 1st book or just someone who wants to read the book. Mr. Buckley is writing a book called “The Cheerleaders of Doom” for the Nerds series. It comes out in September 2011.  I can’t wait to read it! To find out more about the NERDS series visit Mr. Buckley’s website!

I give it 5 out of 5 book worms!
