The charity I would choose is Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia. This charity promotes reading and literacy by putting books in the hands of needy children when they come in for check-ups at their doctors. They do a lot of really great work and I would love to have them win the Chronicle Books! I think it’s really important for young kids to have books of their own!

Cool contest! That is a whole lot of books. I went through my list and we have a lot of the same books: The Whitby Witches, The Alchemists Cat, and The Soldiers Sang, among others. That is an awesome charity! There is a great local charity here that helps little kids with their reading; I would love to give them some new books! 😀

Hi Erik,
You’ve chosen a great list of books. This is the first I’ve heard of this contest and I would absolutely love it if you WON!!!! So GOOD LUCK!!!!
Good luck to BOTH of us!!
What an awesome list (I have Vincent’s Colors and The Whitby Witches on my own list).
I particularly love your chosen charity; I remember my daughter stopping by with my grandbebes after a doctor’s visit where they were given books to take home. They were absolutely thrilled with them, and they are lucky enough to have lots of other books at home. You’d be surprised at how many houses I’ve gone to where there are no. books. at. all. It makes me sad, especially when there are children living there.
Best of luck to you!
