Quote of the day and a message from Josie!

First I have a message from Josie for all the people who wished her a Happy Birthday yesterday –

Today’s quote I have seen in/on a bunch of places, even on t-shirts! I had to look it up to see who said it and found out it was from J.W. Eagan who is an author but I can’t find much information on him or her. If anyone knows PLEASE let me know!  I like the quote because I really think it is true, there’s a lot of movies that aren’t as good as the book!

“Never judge a book by its movie.”  —J. W. Eagan

If you have a great quote about books or reading for my quote of the week please email it to me at Erik@thiskidreviewsbooks.com !

  1. Funny quote! I looked, but could not find much on J.W. Eagan either. And thanks, Josie, for the “thank you” message! I hope your Birthday was great!

    PS. Joke
Interviewer: “And where did you get the idea for your second book?”
Author: “From the movie they made out of my first book.”

  2. Great quote – and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie that lived up to its book. The closest, maybe, was The Time Traveler’s Wife – still not in the league of the book, but better than many, I thought. That’s why I never see a movie before I read the book – I don’t want to have my opinion of the book ruined before I even read it!

  3. Oh that’s so true! Too many times the movie disappoints me, which is why the book is always better! Hope you sister had a wonderful birthday!

  4. Love the quote! It’s so true.

    Josie, you’re adorable! 🙂

  5. Great quote! But I couldn’t find any info about J. W. Eagan, either 🙁 (Why I thought I’d be successful when others weren’t, I’m not exactly sure! lol )

I’m glad Josie enjoyed all the birthday wishes! *waves to Josie* *waves to Erik, too*

  6. That quote is right! Happy Birthday Josie!

  7. I love that quote and in most cases the BOOK is BETTER. Rarely contrary. My students love to watch movies and though it bothers me, I allow it but we read the book and compare the difference. Most times they are upset that something major was left out or something was changed. There are some people who don’t even know the “Twilight” saga was a book series first. I guess viewing is faster than reading. I prefer reading anyday.
