First – THE SECRET OF THE FORTUNE WOOKIEE by Tom Angleberger comes out today!!! YAAAAYYY!!
I’ve been waiting for this to come out and I’m going to go get my copy TODAY! For those of you who don’t know, Tom Angleberger is one of my favorite authors and his book The Strange Case of Origami Yoda is pretty much why I started my blog (read about it HERE).
I also wanted to tell you about a recently published book I just found that is cool because it has to do with the Olympics. “Geronimo Stilton Saves the Olympics” is a graphic novel that tells you about the history of the first modern Olympics in a fun way. It is a great book to go along with watching the Olympics right now!
“Let the Games begin” and “don’t make the Wookiee angry”!

Both books look great!
I know the Olympic one is great, but I can’t wait to read Fortune Wookiee! 🙂
YAY that another book by your favorite author is available! It’s so hard, waiting and waiting for an author’s next book. That Geronimo Stilton book sounds cool.
I just can’t wait to get and read it! The Geronimo book is great and is good for now because the Olympics are going on. 🙂
What great titles Erik, will look forward to hearing your reviews on these.
Thank you Ms. Tulloch! 🙂
Good timing. I’m loving the Olympics. Enjoy your new book!
Thank you! I LOVE The Secret of the Fotune Wookiee! I am already on page 163 of 188! 😀 I enjoy watching the Olympics too! 🙂
These both look great Erik. Happy to see the Geronimo Stilton one. My kids love those! 🙂
They both ARE great! I like Stilton, Geronimo Stilton, too! 😉
So fun when a new book comes out from someone whose writing you love! one of my kids was a big Geronimo Stilton fan – she’s kind of outgrown them now, but we have LOTS! 🙂
It isn’t JUST “fun”, it’s fin AND AWESOME!!!! I like Stilton too. 🙂
These books sound so fun. I haven’t read either of these series- but I have at least one book from each- so I guess I should start reading. Thanks for sharing!
They ARE fun! I think you would like them! 🙂
I have GOT to get my hands on the Origami Yoda book! Thanks Erik!
ALL the books in that series ROCK Ms. Zoch! 😉
That’s something to get excited about! What’s interesting is I am reading Running For My Life by U.S. Olympic Athlete Lopez Lomomg who was one of the thousands of Lost Boys of the Sudan. It’s quite a story – a true story of his life. I’ll be reviewing his book on my blog – after the giveaway I have going now, of course. Perhaps this is a story you could get into if your parents approve it, even though it isn’t a children’s book.
It is!
Running For My Life seems like a good book. I like real life story books and learning about real events. I will ask my Mom to look at the book to see if it is OK for me. 🙂
Sorry, his name is Lopez Lomong. He is competing in the Olympics in London now. This is actually a novel, but a quick and easy read. Once you get past the terrible treatment he wrote about in the first few chapters he reveals his sense of humour which had me actually laughing out loud.
Thanks for the info! I can’t wait to read about him on your blog! 🙂
Now I know that I am officially late to the Fortune Wookiee party. I’ve been seeing so much of this book in the Monday meme, and I am heartbroken seeing that everyone seems to have read it and known about this book but me. 🙁 Will definitely check out if we have this in the library so I can join in the fun.
This was an AWESOME book! Did you and/or your daughter read any of the Origami Yoda books? If not, I think you guys will like ’em 😉
