Guest Book Review by Josie! Color Book for Nerdlings by Sean McMenemy

Today I have a special kid guest reviewer, my sister Josie! πŸ˜€

She is reviewing a coloring book (because she is the artist in the family) but it is not just any ordinary coloring book, as you will find out!

But first – I forgot to announce the winner of “The Perfect Thanksgiving” yesterday, so I will announce it today!

The winner is…

RHYTHM The Library Lab! πŸ˜€ YAY! Congratulations Rhythm! πŸ™‚ I will be sending your book out to you!

Color Book for Nerdlings

This isn’t a regular book. It is a book on the computer and it is a coloring book. You print out the pages you want. That is nice because you can print new ones out if you want to do them again.

I made some planets and rocket ships (there are ray guns too). They were cool. I made planets that go together. You can cut them out. There were big lines so you don’t go out of them.

What was really cool was the big ones. There were rockets and space controls. I wanted to do a space control panel. I didn’t see what it was at first then my mom showed me how to put it together. IT WAS HUGE! I was surprised at how big it was. It printed on 20 pages.

It took me a while to color it but it was fun. One night my whole family sat on the floor and colored together. That was fun.

I liked how it came out.

I like spaceships and rockets, and aliens but I am not a nerd. Erik says he is a nerd (he likes being a nerd – isn’t that weird?). Erik liked this book too so the book is good for nerds and not nerds. πŸ™‚

I think it is a great book and should get 5 book worms.Β fivebooks

  1. Great job, J. I LOVE that giant coloring project. I’m sure if Mom had 20 pages to color I would be a BIG help to her. I probably would not eat any of the pages, or lie down on them, and I probably would not eat the crayons or try to hatch them like eggs…..

    Love and licks,

  2. Awesome coloring, Josie!

  3. Okay, this is my favorite sentence: “Erik liked this book too so the book is good for nerds and not nerds. :)”
I love the control panel and your sunglasses, Josie. What a great review for a unique book.
    Congratulations on the win, Rhythm!
    ~Cool Mom

  4. That control panel is out if this world! Josie, there are all sorts of nerds. My son says he’s an athletic nerd–which is a good thing–and that his cousin is straight-up nerd. Of course my husband says I’m the other nerd in the house. Nerdlings unite! πŸ™‚ I liked hearing your voice in this review.

  5. Yay for me! What a lucky dog! Thanks Erik, I will be watching for the mail lady! These coloring pages look pretty cool. Puzzle and coloring all in one! I’ll have to let my Princesses know about this. Thanks Josie for an excellent review!

  6. I love the word NERDLING! Yay, Josie! Keep up the excellent work!

  7. YAY Josie! I love the huge control panel. It’s beautiful and you look so proud. Keep coloring and drawing. You have a talent!

  8. I give this review and that awesome control panel both five stars!

  9. Wow that control panel IS huge! Great job on the coloring. Enjoyed your review, Josie, especially your comments about nerds and not nerds. πŸ™‚

  10. First, a big “Congrats!” to Rhythm πŸ™‚

Great review, Josie! I happen to be a VERY big fan of coloring books! I spent a LOT of time with them when I was young and I happen to have quite a collection of them, still, though I use them for reference art if asked to do something with a famous cartoon character. Plus, I just love having them anyway πŸ™‚

You actually do an EXcellent job coloring, by the way! Your use of color and your evenness in filling in is really well done. At some point maybe you can try to add shading, too! It adds a lot of depth, which you will LOVE when you do it. It makes everything look more 3-D πŸ™‚

Thanks for telling us about the book, and I love the giant control panel, too! πŸ™‚

  11. Yay! Hello Jpsie.Lovely to meet you. What a great picture. I am so glad Erik featured you today. What a great ides this book is!

  12. Thanks Josie for such a great review! I’m so glad to see you enjoyed using Colorbooks4Nerdlings! I think your control panels turned out fantastic! You’re right you don’t have to be a nerd to like rockets, because rockets are cool!

  13. Wonderful! Please let Josie know that she looks like a ROCK STAR! πŸ™‚
