Synopsis- Ethan’s grandma is a ninja. She can use a zip line like nobody’s business, she can do awesome karate moves, she can even do a backflip… in slow motion! How cool is that?! Ethan and his friends love it. That is, until Ethan’s grandma kicks the team’s soccer ball so hard it deflates and everyone gets upset. Ethan is no longer sure having a ninja grandma that great.
What I Thought- OKAY! What kid wouldn’t love this book?! It has a ninja, who actually happens to be an elderly grandmother – PURE AWESOMENESS! The illustrations are funny, wacky, and they flip out at you – in slow motion! This book will have little kids laughing out loud, and big kids rolling on the floor, laughing their lungs out! Mr. Tarpley has written a great book that has a funny circling ending. It kept me chuckling.
I give this book 5 out of 5 bookworms!
I amready to laugh my lungs out! What a fun review!
Thank you Mrs. RoZo! 😀
This looks AWESOME! Can’t wait to read it with my 5 y.o.!
It is! 😀
This book looks so adorable! And I think it also sends a wonderful message to kids that grandparents, ninja or not, are AWESOME!
You are exactly right!
Sounds like fun, E. That being said, I’m glad Mom isn’t a ninja. It sounds exhausting.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I know what you mean, C. 🙂
Thanks for the awesome review, Erik. I have no idea how you find the time to write this blog in addition to homework and other activities, but kudos to you–impressive work!
Thank you for commenting Mr. Tarpley! That means a lot to me! I really appreciate it!
I suspect that more nana’s than expected are secret Ninja’s, and have invisible magic powers.
Huzzah to that! I agree! 😉
It looks adorable, but, dang!, just how many ninja books does the world need?
As many as possible! 😉
Well, then I better start writing one, eh?
Mike, I’m pretty sure there’s no “Ninja Brussel Sprout” picture book just yet, so the field’s yours for the taking! 😉
This just made my day… er- NIGHT! Thank you! 😉
And making yours made mine 😀
Yay! 😀
I would only write this book if a ninja was sent out to destroy Brussels sprouts.
This would work for kids IF, in the end, it turns out that the Ninja realizes he’s mistaken in wanting to destroy the Brussel sprouts because they are, in fact, friendly and they have [nutritional] value 😀 😀 😀 *runs from Ninja Mike*
You better run!
a.k.a. =========Speedy Gonzalez!
Good luck Miss Donna! I hope you get as far from New Jersey as possible! (I hear that Antarctica is nice this time of year!) 😉
🙂
Yes, you should! 😀
Why haven’t we all thought of that before? Awesome!
Dang good ideas! 😉
Sounds like fun! Grandma´s rule!!
Huzzah! – wait, I mean: Hiya! 😉
The illustrations look great and the book sounds like so much fun! Love it! 🙂
I know you would! 😀
I must get my paws on this one! The cover of Grandma carrying her purse and wearing her pearls gets me every time. Super review, Erik.
I know exactly what you mean! Thanks! 😀
Not many grandmas sit around in rocking chairs anymore just getting old. 🙂
Nope! If anything, they do SOMETHING in their rocking chairs! My grandma bakes, and the other one draws! 🙂
I recently read this and it’s definitely a fun book! Oh, but I really did want Grandma to stop fouling things up! lol
But Grandma was awesome! 😉
She was! She just didn’t see she could be a bit “over the top” 😉
Ninjas aren’t really “over the top”. They’re more of a “through the shadows” type. 😉
