Chronicle Books is releasing the Cozy Classics books!

If you haven’t experienced the art of Jack and Holman Wang before, you are missing out!

Included in this release is: Pride & Prejudice, Great Expectations, War & Peace and Moby Dick

What I Thought About the Series- This is a gorgeous book series. The Wangs’ felt works are amazing, and can really get kids and their parents oohing and ahhing over the characters expressions. It is sort of funny how they can sum up pivotal parts of these classic novels with just one word, such as ‘friends’ or ‘Boom!’. Imagine Toystoy’s War and Peace reduced to just 12 words!

I read the the Wang brothers got bored of the traditional learn-to-read youngster books, and they wanted to introduce a love for classics and more abstract, bigger ideas. The sets they create to go along with their felt figures are equally amazing.  You can read more and see more at their website ot Chronicle Books. I like that the series gets young kids to pick up more classics and even encourages adults to read a classic. The books are board-books, but they have amazing covers and spines. They look really great on a bookshelf!

These will make nice books for bedtime! What a great way to get your children interested in the Classics!

I give these amazing creations five out of five bookworms!fivebooks

  1. Wow! The concept for these books is super clever. And I love the felt figures. Reminds me of the old Davey and Goliath TV shows (way before your time). Great review, Erik!

  2. Robin’s right, they do look like Davy and Goliath figures. Wow. (Hope I remember this for my review – oh, point for you Erik.) I do like your review and how the books look great on a shelf. They do, but I’d never would have thought to mention this. Great job, Erik.

  3. Yowza! These covers are adorable!

  4. Whoot! I love the idea of this series reimagined for children. Such a great way to introduce classic stories to kids.

  5. I love love LOVE these books and have given them to my granddaughters. The youngest one is learning to read using these books. My favourite books in 12 words and adorable pictures. Thanks for giving them such a great review!
